Every day, thousands of Tamil Nadu fishermen sail into the sea to earn a living and feed their families. Yet, many return home carrying fear instead of fish—fear of unknowingly crossing international borders, encountering illegal foreign fishing vessels, becoming victims of maritime robbery, or losing their livelihood to unauthorized fishing activities. For these fishermen, the sea is not just water; it is their workplace, their source of income, and their hope for a better future. However, the lack of real-time maritime awareness and safety systems puts their lives and livelihoods at constant risk. This project aims to develop an AI-powered maritime protection system that safeguards Tamil Nadu fishermen through intelligent border alerts, illegal vessel detection, emergency assistance, and real-time safety monitoring—ensuring that every fisherman who leaves shore has a safer journey and a better chance of returning home to their family.
