HackIndia presents Hack Synapse 2026 at MITS-DU, Gwalior: NexisEdge Takes First Place

IEEE Hack Synapse 2026 has officially concluded at Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS-DU), Gwalior, bringing together student builders from across India for a 36-hour national-level innovation sprint.

Organized by IEEE IAS SBC, IEEE RAS SBC and the IEEE Student Branch at MITS-DU, in collaboration with HackIndia, the hackathon was built around the theme “Synapse to Solution: Connecting Ideas with Impact.”

The event challenged participants to move beyond ideas and build technology-driven solutions across three tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Web3 & Blockchain, and Open Innovation.

36 Hours. 325 Teams. 901 Builders.

Hack Synapse 2026 brought together 901 builders across 325 teams, creating a highly competitive environment where participants worked through prototyping, development, testing and final presentations.

The 36-hour Grand Finale took place on 5–6 September 2026 at MITS-DU, Gwalior, following an online screening round that shortlisted teams from across the country.

During the finale, teams worked closely with mentors, refined their solutions and presented their final products before an expert jury.

Projects were evaluated on innovation, technical implementation, problem relevance, feasibility, scalability, user experience, impact and presentation quality.

And the Winners Are

1st Place — Team NexisEdge

Trident Academy of Technology, Bhubaneswar

Prize: ₹21,000

Team NexisEdge emerged as the overall winner with “Agrivaidya — Smart Robotic System,” a drone-and-ground-robot combination designed for agricultural applications.

The solution integrates UGV and UAV robotics to address real-world agricultural challenges, demonstrating how deep-tech systems can be applied to practical problems in India.

2nd Place — ASCE

Prize: ₹12,000

The home institution, Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior, secured the second position, bringing the competition's podium back to the host campus.

3rd Place — Ride Guardians

Prize: ₹7,000

Jai Narain College of Technology, Bhopal, secured third place, completing the overall winners' podium.

More Than a Hackathon

Hack Synapse 2026 was designed to test more than coding ability.

Teams were evaluated on how effectively they identified problems, developed technically viable solutions, designed usable products and communicated their ideas.

The competition brought together students working across AI, Web3, blockchain, automation, software development and open innovation, reflecting the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of modern technology building.

For many participants, the 36-hour finale was an opportunity to move from an initial concept to a functional prototype under real time constraints — while receiving feedback from mentors and presenting directly to judges.

Building the Next Generation of Innovators

The success of Hack Synapse 2026 reflects the growing demand among India's student developer community for platforms where ideas can be tested, built and presented on a national stage.

Through its collaboration with IEEE IAS, IEEE RAS, IEEE Student Branch MITS-DU and HackIndia, the event created a space where students could collaborate across institutions and turn technical ideas into solutions with real-world potential.

The hackathon also offered participants certificates, mentorship, networking opportunities and additional sponsor-backed rewards alongside the main competition prizes.

While three teams took the top three positions, Hack Synapse 2026 was ultimately about the hundreds of students who spent 36 hours building, iterating, solving problems and pushing their ideas forward.
