Ask narrowly

A good feedback request does not say, “Please review my profile.” It says what you are trying to show, which sections to check, and what kind of reply will help you.

People are more likely to answer when the ask takes less than 3 minutes.

Who to ask

Ask people who can judge the part you are improving. A senior can check whether your projects look credible. A teammate can check whether your role is clear. An alumnus can check whether your profile matches internship expectations.

Forum members are useful because they see many builder profiles. They can point out unclear wording and missing proof.

Your to-do

Pick the focus

Do each one yourself, then tap it to tick it off. The ticks are only a checklist for you: they are not marked or scored.

Choose one goal, such as backend internship, frontend role, hackathon teammate, or open-source contributor.
Pick 2 profile sections to review, such as headline and projects, or About and activity.
Ask one direct question per section.
Set a simple deadline, like “by Friday evening” or “when you get 5 minutes”.
Say you will make one change based on their feedback.

Common mistake

Avoid vague asks

A vague ask makes the other person do all the thinking. They may ignore it or reply with “looks good”, which does not help you improve.

Do not send your profile link with no context. Do not ask for a full review if you only need help with your project wording.

Use this as a DM, WhatsApp message, email, or HackIndia forum comment. Keep it short and easy to answer.

Tip

Make replying easy

Give them options. Instead of asking “What should I improve?”, ask “Should I keep this headline or make it more specific to React and APIs?”

If you ask in the HackIndia forum, mention that you want blunt, practical feedback. Also reply to others. You learn faster when you compare profiles.
